Renault Wins in Malaysia, Now Two for Two!

Well, the 2005 season is shapiong up to be an interestiing one. Fernando Alonso cruised to what looked like an easy vistory in Malaysia.

Toyota must be happy with Jarno trulli as he finished second while Ralf Schumacher finished fifth. Looks like Toyota may be tough this year. I guess money can equal success!

BWM/Williams driver Nick Heidfeld finished third after gridding tenth while fellow teammate, my guy Mark Webber, was involved in an accident with Giancarlo Fisichella and went out on lap 37 after another great qualifying effort that put him fourth on the grid.

Complete race report from Malaysia.

Mom’s 70th Birthday Party Today

My mom’s friends the Bowers rented a limo for my mom, my sister’s family and my family as we all made the 2-hour drive to Chicago for brunch at the Ritz-Carlton!

On the way down my mom opened about 70 gifts to go with her 70 years. As you may imagine, a lot were on the silly side but that made it fun and my mom loved it!

Holy cow, what a spread! The Ritz sure knows how to do lunch!

Petter Solberg Makes it Two in a Row at Mexico!

Petter won the first stage and never looked back! This makes it two in a row after his win in Sweden.

This was only the second Rally Mexico and it looked FAST! The surface prep was very good and although this is a gravel rally, it looked paved in a lot of areas!

A super charge from Sebastian Loeb was great to watch after he lost significant time on the first stage. He wasn’t in the top 16 after the first stage but fought back to take fourth passing two excellent drivers in the last stage!

Next WRC event is New Zealand April 8 to 10, 2005. New Zealand is one of the premier events on the WRC calendar. Don’t miss it!

In my area qualifying from Melbourne, Australia, site the first F1 race of the year will be on Speed Channel at 8PM CST.

Looks like my guys this year will be Mark Webber and Nick Heidfeld. Wouldn’t it be cool if Mark Webber won his first race at BMW/Williams with a win in his hime country?
