slopeflyer podcasts

Not sure the world really needs these but they were fun to do and got me anxious to do more so I have a few little technical dealies coming to help make the show a bit more professional sounding.

I never did any radio of anything in the past but I do have a real passion and a pretty good knowledge base about radio control slope soaring so that is what the slopeflyer podcasts are about. I posted the first 3. All mobile recordings at:

We’ll see how long it takes to get bandwidth issues!

  1. Hey Greg,

I was curious what this was all about. It’s a good vechicle. And you’re one of those folks who have “the gift of gab”. Plus, there’s a lot of stuff floating around in your brain that =I= think others actually will find interesting.

I bet it’s certainly easier for you to do these “reports” while on the road (to slope sites, or other trips that inspire you to talk about planes or hobby topics) than it would be to type all the info. In that vein, it might be very cool to describe the slopes you go to, and explain conditions, people, planes, etc and have links to these mp3’s in your slope guides. Like the Cajon trip report in the pre-KS trip #2 podcast.

    Gotta run, time for dinner.

  2. Joe,

Thanks for the input. I think the slope description idea is a good one.

    Listen for more shows soon!

  3. Mr Smith-

I recently enjoyed episode #5 of your slopeflyer podcast, I would like the next issue to be a video podcast, as the verbal description of slopeflying to the layman is akin to listening to motoGP on the radio.

Keep up the good work, and congratulations on the impending familial growth!

  4. Jeff,

    Thanks for the kudos.

I agree to some extent. I think a video version would be cool. Obviously a bunch more work but I do plan to do a few video versions soon. More likely 5-minute or so segments to start.

Meanwhile, I have a couple of audio versions coming soon and I still think they are viable, especially for news, announcements and the like.

    Thanks again,

    Greg
